Before calling for service, check the items below to save time and expense.
THERMOSTAT
Is the setting well above room temperature?
Run the temperature setting needle as far up and down as it will go on the dial a few times, then set it well above room temperature.
ELECTRICAL POWER SWITCH
Make sure the power switch to the furnace or the furnace emergency switch has not been turned off accidentally. If you have a summer fan switch and the summer fan fails at the same time you have no heat, there is probably no electrical power getting to the furnace.
FUSES
Are your fuses OK? They can fail without appearing to “blow.” If there is no power to the furnace and all your switches are on, replace the furnace fuse (usually near the furnace) and the main fuse serving the furnace.
PILOT LIGHT
Is the pilot light out?
RESET BUTTONS
Check to see if your furnace has manual reset buttons. Press one time only if any reset buttons are tripped.
IF YOU SMELL GAS – YOU NEED TO CALL YOUR GAS COMPANY IMMEDIATELY!!
